Provincetown is one of the most unique towns in the US. Residing on the very tip of Cape Cod’s boot, Ptown is relatively quiet during it’s winter hibernation. Come summertime, people from all over the world come here to work and play. Amazing LGBTQ events take place every week. We love Ptown, and if you have never been take a trip here! We’re sure you’ll love it too.
You are never too old or too young to hit up some of the most iconic lesbian events around. Well, you can be too young, but that just means you can plan ahead. Here are some of our favorite women’s events from across the country that everyone should venture out to at least once or twice in their lives including our all-time favorite event, the uniquely amazing Stargaze Women’s Festival. First we’d like to wish everyone out there, no matter what or how you celebrate, a safe and Happy Holidays and New Year. 2015 was an exciting year for not only us, but for LBGTQ rights everywhere. Though the struggle and fight is not over, great strides were made worldwide for the LBGTQ community. Yes, we still have our share of Kim Davis out there, but we’ll choose to have a brief recap of some of the strides that were made.
Courts all over the country struck down bans on same-sex marriage in states like South Dakota, Alabama, and Nebraska. States and cities/towns reinforced bans on discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity in employment and housing. Countries like Austria, Luxemburg, Slovenia, Greenland, and Mexico made progress for marriage and adoption rights for same sex couples. The Pentagon announced that transgender personnel can openly serve in the US Military starting in 2016. Also, Nepal started to issue passports to transgendered people marking a important cultural shift. Here at home one of the biggest stories was the US Supreme Court ruled that bans on same sex marriage violates the US Constitution. Those are just a handful of the events of progress across the world.
