Beater or tank- a summer must. Whether it be classic Jockey A-frames or more expensive designer tanks, the beater is a cool comfortable summer go to. No better way to show off what’s been swaddled all winter then with one of these. In Black or white or even pastels they go with almost anything.
Cut off T’s- Ever since the vintage look has become more well, vintage getting good cut off T’s has been a hard find. The advantages of course are they’re a great way to show off nicely tanned and sculpted arms, these days a better bet may be short sleeved T’s.
Khakis- The Gap classic has been adopted by outfitters everywhere and is about as hard to find as a pair of tube socks. This shorter version of the casual pant is a summer go to. Wear them fitted or baggy with or without a belt. If you go for the belt a dark brown or black goes best. With a tank and some flip flops, vans or running shoes, (get some peds or super short white athletic socks) no point in rocking fresh gear and spoiling the look with a pair of long black socks. Dickies, Rugby, Abercrombie and Fitch, Hollister and others all have nice Khaki’s in their summer issues.
Short-shorts- Now this look, in my opinion totally depends on the person and the persons leg, I for one cannot pull the short short. However these shorts can look great with vans or hojos or flip flops. I have even seen some women pull them off with heels. Light pastel colored shorts with your casual tanks and or short sleeved shirts, or get a little inventive if its a hot night and you plan to leave the protection of your air conditioning. Gap, Diesel, G-Star, Rugby and others put out these summer shorts.
Madras or Plaids- The success of this short depends entirely on the design. With a white T-shirt or even doubled up with a polo underneath the white T a fashionable summer look, so in my opinion go for it as long as the design doesn’t clash on to many fronts.
Camos and Cargos-These shorts have been on the market for a decade or more, but they don’t seem to be quitting any time soon. They are cool and roomy with plenty of cargo space and can be found at plenty of fashion outfitters. Great way to avoid losing stuff at the beach.
Athletic shorts and Sweat-pant cut-offs- Easily the most comfortable outfit ever is a pair of cut-off sweatpants, a beater and some flip flops. Nuff said. Dc Athletic shorts and Rugby sweat-pant cut offs shown.
Board Shorts- Personally, I like a board short, its a good way to avoid the thigh burns at the beach and they dry quickly. With a pair of vans or almost any casual summer shoe your ready for almost anything. Quicksilver, O’neil, DC, Burnside generally start putting out there board shorts in mid April so stock up.
